I wanted to take a moment to be completely transparent with you about where OZO Keyboards stands today, the challenges we've faced this festive season, and the changes we're making to ensure we can continue serving you for years to come.
The Reality Check
This festive season has been a humbling learning experience. While we were thrilled to ship orders to customers across the globe, the reality is that we lost money on the majority of those orders.
Let me break down what happened: We shipped every parcel with DDP (Delivery Duty Paid) to ensure you never faced surprise customs fees. We covered all broker fees ourselves. We ran a 10% store-wide promotion. We included free giveaways with orders. And we shipped everything from the UK, using air freight not only to get the products from our manufacturers' locations, then back to the UK, and then out to you again using air freight.
The math simply didn't work in our favor.
But here's the thing—I don't regret it. Every challenge has been a lesson in logistics, pricing, and what it truly takes to run a sustainable keyboard business. We're a small UK operation, and we're learning as we go.
The Solution: Smarter, Not Harder
After analyzing our operations, we realized we were doing things inefficiently. Why ship every product to the UK first, only to send it back overseas to customers in Europe and North America?
We've now established a partnership with a trusted fulfillment facility overseas, located near where most of our manufacturers operate. This facility will handle shipments to the European Union and North America directly. This means:
- Faster delivery times for EU and North American customers
- Lower shipping costs that we can pass on to you
- Reduced environmental impact from unnecessary international shipping
- Maintained DDP service – no surprise fees at your door
Meanwhile, products marked as "Ready to Dispatch" will continue to ship from our UK warehouse within 24 hours, just as they always have.

As a small UK business, our local customers are absolutely vital to our existence. We recognize that the UK mechanical keyboard community—especially those seeking ISO layout keyboards—has unique needs that aren't always met by larger international retailers.
We're committed to building UK stock inventory, with a particular focus on ISO keyboards and UK-specific layouts. You deserve fast delivery, local support, and the confidence that comes from buying from a UK business that understands your needs.
