Morgrie Spacetime65: 65% Wireless Aluminium Mechanical Keyboard

Morgrie Spacetime65 65% mechanical keyboard in White on a black and white wave desk mat

Where tech meets the arts

The Spacetime65 is what happens when a keyboard is designed by people who care how it looks on the desk as much as how it types. A CNC-machined aluminium case with soft, rounded corners, a gold-accented keycap and badge, and a copper weight plate on the underside that nobody but you will ever see. It is a 65% board, so you keep the arrow keys and a navigation column while giving up the number pad, and it sits at a gentle 5 degree angle, low enough to type on without a wrist rest.

Morgrie builds it with Nouvolo under the line "when tech meets the arts", and it reads that way: a small object that would not look wrong next to a fountain pen.

Pogo-pin gasket mount

Most gasket-mounted keyboards still have a ribbon cable running from the PCB to the case, which is the one thing that gets in the way when you open them. The Spacetime65 does not. The PCB talks to the case through spring-loaded pogo pins, so the plate and PCB float freely on their gaskets with nothing tethering them, and the whole assembly lifts out cleanly when you want to swap plates or foams.

In use it means a softer, more even keystroke across the board, with no stiff spot where a cable would normally anchor the PCB. A PC plate and a 1.2 mm PCB keep the feel on the flexible side.

Three HMX switches, tuned for the board

The three Spacetime65 switch options with force curves: Linear 37 gf, Tactile 43 gf and Linear 45 gf
Linear 37 gf

The lightest option. 3.5 mm of travel with almost no resistance, for fast typists and anyone who finds standard switches tiring over a full day.

Tactile 43 gf

A light bump over 3.6 mm of travel. Enough feedback to type by feel without the effort of a heavy tactile.

Linear 45 gf

The all-rounder. 3.5 mm of travel with a touch more spring to lean on, which helps if you bottom out hard or want fewer accidental presses.

Hot-swap, south-facing RGB

Every switch sits in a hot-swap socket, so the HMX switches it ships with are a starting point rather than a commitment. Pull them, drop in anything MX-compatible, no soldering. The RGB LEDs face south, towards you, so they light the front of the keycap and stay clear of the stem on sculpted profiles.

The keycaps are Cherry profile ABS with a UV-cured finish, with gold accents on the badge key. The White version's legends are gold too.

Tri-mode, 4000 mAh

USB-C wired, 2.4 GHz with the receiver, or Bluetooth 5.0 for a laptop, tablet or phone. Wired and 2.4 GHz poll at 1000 Hz. Two slim 2000 mAh batteries sit inside the case, 4000 mAh in total, which keeps the board thin and still gives weeks of wireless use.

It works with Windows, macOS and Android, and Morgrie's own software handles key remapping, macros and layout changes.

Three finishes

Silver is anodised; White and Pink are e-coated for a smooth, even colour.

The side you never see

Flip the Spacetime65 over and there is a copper-toned weight plate set into the aluminium base, held by four screws. It adds heft so the board stays put, and it is the kind of detail that tells you the designers did not stop caring when they got to the bottom.

Q&A & Specifications

Questions & Answers

Which switch should I pick?

Linear 45 gf if you are unsure; it suits typing and gaming. Linear 37 gf if you like a very light touch. Tactile 43 gf if you want a small bump to confirm each press.

What is a pogo-pin mount?

The PCB connects to the case through spring pins instead of a cable, so the plate floats on its gaskets with nothing tying it down, and the internals lift out in one piece.

Can I change switches and keycaps?

Yes. The PCB is hot-swap and the stems are standard MX, so any MX switch or keycap set fits.

Does it work on a Mac?

Yes, over any of the three connection modes. Android is supported over Bluetooth as well.

Compatibility

Works with Windows, macOS and Android over any of the three connection modes: USB-C cable, the included 2.4 GHz receiver, or Bluetooth 5.0 for laptops, tablets and phones. The 2.4 GHz and wired modes run at 1000 Hz for gaming; Bluetooth suits everyday typing. The PCB is hot-swap with standard MX sockets, so any MX-compatible switch fits, and the Cherry-profile keycaps can be swapped for any MX-stem keycap set.
