FBB Totoro Keycap Set: 1.7 mm Dye-Sub PBT for ANSI and ISO Keyboards

A quiet forest on your desk

Some keycap sets are about looking sharp. This one is about looking kind. FBB's Totoro set takes the big, sleepy forest spirit from Hayao Miyazaki's film and spreads him across a full keyboard: soft greens and creams for the alphas, a few character keys where he and his small friends peek out, and a spacebar that works as the centrepiece. It is the set for people whose desk is also where they wind down, not just where they work.

Underneath the artwork it is a serious set of keycaps. Thick PBT, dye-sublimated legends and enough extra keys to cover both ANSI and ISO boards.

Why thick PBT matters

The mahjong sound

At 1.7 mm the walls are noticeably thicker than a standard keycap. Thicker walls do not flex or ring, so each keystroke lands with a dense, solid clack, the sound of mahjong tiles being set down on a table. On a linear board it deepens the note; on a tactile it makes the bottom-out feel more definite.

Legends that stay put

Dye-sublimation dyes the artwork and legends into the plastic rather than printing them on top. There is nothing to wear through, so the Totoro faces and the letters look the same after a few years as they did in the box.

Matte that stays matte

PBT has a fine, dry texture under the fingertips and does not develop the greasy shine that builds up on frequently pressed keys. The home row will still match the number row long after you have forgotten which keys you use most.

Built for ANSI and ISO

The set includes the keys an ISO board needs alongside the standard ANSI layout: the tall ISO Enter, the short left Shift and the extra key beside it. A UK or European keyboard is covered straight out of the box, with no hunting for a matching add-on kit, and an ANSI board simply leaves those few keys in the bag.

Stems are standard MX cross mounts, so the set fits any mechanical keyboard with MX-style switches.

Q&A & Specifications

Questions & Answers

Will it fit my keyboard?

If your keyboard uses MX-style switches, yes. The set covers both ANSI and ISO layouts, including the ISO Enter and short left Shift. Check the kit image for the exact keys included if your board has an unusual bottom row.

Are the legends shine-through?

No. Dye-sub PBT is opaque, so backlighting glows around the keys rather than through the letters.
