The Marshmallow R1X is Zuoce's third pass at its softest linear. The first two Marshmallows were about one thing, a deep, pillowy thock, and the R1X keeps that and adds a touch of definition: a slightly longer stem pole so the bottom-out lands with a clearer, more audible note under the softness. Zuoce calls the result creamy, and that is about right.
It is a light switch. 37 g to actuate and 42 g at the bottom on a long 21 mm single-stage spring, which gives an even, floating press rather than one that stiffens at the end. The UPE stem glides in PA66 housings with no fibreglass in the mix, the combination that keeps the sound low and rounded instead of sharp. Designed by Zuoce Studio, made by BSUN.
