Evoworks EVO80 ISO Pre-Order: Pre-Built TKL Wireless Mechanical Keyboard

Evoworks EVO80 TKL mechanical keyboard in Baby Pink on a desk, seen from above

The Evoworks EVO80 is a pre-built 80% mechanical keyboard with a CNC-machined aluminium case, a butterfly leaf spring mount, tri-mode wireless and an 8000 mAh battery. This listing is the ISO and AZERTY pre-order: UK ISO, DE ISO, ES ISO, PT ISO, IT ISO, Nordic ISO and FR AZERTY, in five finishes, all with the Oat Linear and PP plate configuration.

ISO pre-order: what you get

This is part of the EVO80 ISO pre-order (although some products can be in stock, please refer to the variants to see the dispatch times).

Every EVO80 in this batch is assembled to the German ISO standard. Your order includes the specific keycaps needed to replace the German keys, so you can set the board up to the layout you ordered.

All ISO pre-orders come in one configuration: Oat Linear switches and a PP plate, factory lubed, for a rounded, thockier sound.

80% utility, symmetric by design

The tenkeyless layout keeps everything you reach for at work and in games: the full function row, arrow keys and the navigation cluster, with only the number pad left out. The EVO80 also keeps the F13 key above the arrows, so the top row runs the full width of the case and the whole board sits symmetrically on the desk.

At 357 x 136.4 mm with an 18 mm front height, the front edge sits low under your wrists, and at 1870 g the board will not move once it is down.

Stable feel, tuned sound

Inside, the plate sits on a butterfly leaf spring mount, so each keystroke has a little give at the bottom rather than landing on hard aluminium. The switch structure is tuned to the plate material it ships with, which is how the EVO80 manages a clear sound and a controlled bottom-out straight out of the box, so you do not need to shop for foam or open the case.

The PCB is hot-swappable, so if you later want to try a different switch you can pull the originals and push the new ones in without soldering.

Oat Linear switches and PP plate

Evoworks offers the EVO80 in two tuned switch and plate pairings. The ISO pre-order ships with the Thock pairing: Oat Linear switches on a PP plate. Rounded, creamy and marbly, with a deeper sound and a softer texture than a stiff plate gives.

Oat Linear Switches by Keygeek: force curve and specifications, 36 g operation, 45 g bottom-out, 3.6 mm travel

Oat Linear by Keygeek: 36 g to actuate, 45 g at the bottom, 2.0 mm pre-travel, 3.6 mm total, 22 mm spring. L4 stem, PA66 top housing, PA6 bottom housing.

Tri-mode, 8000 mAh, per-key RGB

Connect over USB-C, 2.4 GHz with the included receiver, or Bluetooth, and move between a desktop, a laptop and a tablet without re-pairing. Wired and 2.4 GHz run at 1000 Hz; Bluetooth at 125 Hz. It works with Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS and Android.

An 8000 mAh battery sits in the compartment on the underside. With the default lighting on, Evoworks rates it at around 30 hours; with the lights off, up to around 400 hours between charges. Per-key RGB shines up through the dye-sub PBT keycaps when you want it and stays out of the way when you do not.

Q&A & Specifications

Questions & Answers

Does the EVO80 need any assembly?

No. It ships fully built with switches and keycaps fitted and the acoustic tuning done. Plug in or pair and start typing.

Which layouts are available?

UK ISO, DE ISO, ES ISO, PT ISO, IT ISO, Nordic ISO and FR AZERTY. Every board is assembled to the German ISO standard and comes with the keycaps needed to convert it to the layout you ordered.

Can I choose Azure switches instead?

Not on the ISO pre-order. All ISO boards in this batch ship with Oat Linear switches on the PP plate. The PCB is hot-swap, so you can fit different switches yourself later.

How long does the battery last?

The 8000 mAh battery is rated at around 30 hours with the default RGB on and up to around 400 hours with the lights off.

Can I change the switches or keycaps?

Yes. The PCB is hot-swap, so switches pull out without soldering, and the standard MX-style stems take most aftermarket keycap sets.

What is the F13 key for?

It is a spare, fully remappable key above the arrow cluster. It is handy for mute, a screenshot shortcut or a layer toggle.

Customer Reviews

Overall rating: 4.9 / 5 from 29 reviews.

Better than i expected. Got surprised how well made this keyboard was in pretty much every way imaginable. Even the unboxing experience felt better than anything i can remember unboxing before(apple level). Only flaw i can think of is the VIA compatibility that requires a JSON file to be uploaded in order for it to work. Big recommend!

Evoworks -  Evo80 80% TKL Mechanical Keyboard - ISO & AZERTY (Pre-Order - batch 3)

Despite having to wait nearly 5 months for the keyboard, it was well worth the wait :) My only negative point would be using the keyboard wirelessly where sometimes key inputs repeat themselves as if the signal dropped a bit, I'm not opposed to just using wired so I'm happy either way, great keyboard overall. Evoworks -  Evo80 80% TKL Mechanical Keyboard (UK & DE ISO)

Amazing keyboard and high quality cnc aluminium body. It is very thocky and sounds amazing. It’s also amazing that it’s in ISO layout. Jake owner of the OZO website is amazing and supportive. Really great to have him there whenever I had a question or needed some guidance. Thanks to the team for delivering the keyboards safely and in best condition.
