GEEKZB Story75 Aluminium Barebone Keyboard Kit

GEEKZB Story75 Aluminium Barebone Keyboard Kit

The Foundation for Your Perfect Keyboard

The GEEKZB Story75 is a 75% layout barebone mechanical keyboard kit intended for users who wish to build a custom keyboard. The kit provides a premium foundation, including a full CNC-machined 6063 aluminium case, a flexible gasket mount system, and a versatile tri-mode connectivity PCB. As a barebone kit, it requires the user to supply their own switches and keycaps to complete the build.

This kit is equipped with the essential components for a high-performance custom keyboard. It features a 1.2mm flex-cut PCB designed to enhance the soft typing feel of the gasket mount structure, along with a complete set of acoustic dampening foams to fine-tune the sound profile.

The Foundation for Your Perfect Keyboard

Case Construction and Design

The Story75 keyboard features a substantial case machined from 6063 aluminium, which provides a stable, resonance-dampening base. The case is available in several high-quality finishes, including anodized, spray coated, and e-coat options to suit different aesthetic preferences.

For ease of assembly and modification, the case uses a screw-free ball catch mechanism. This system allows the top and bottom case pieces to be separated without tools, providing quick access to the internal components. An interchangeable stylized badge is also included for additional aesthetic customisation.

Case Construction and Design

Acoustic Dampening System

To achieve a refined sound profile, the Story75 kit includes a multi-layered foam and padding solution. This system is designed to eliminate hollowness and absorb unwanted frequencies. The kit contains PORON plate foam, IXPE switch foam, and dense PORON and PET bottom case padding. These components work together to provide a focused and pleasant sound during use.

Electronics and Customisation

The keyboard's PCB features hot-swappable sockets for easy switch installation and south-facing RGB LEDs for maximum keycap compatibility. The Story75 is powered by a large 6000mAh battery, providing extended use in wireless modes.

A notable feature is the optional 2U TFT screen module, which can be installed above the arrow keys using a Pogo Pin connector. This screen is configurable via proprietary software, allowing users to display custom images, system information, or other data. All key mapping and macro programming are also managed through this dedicated software.
