Lofree Flow Lite 2 84: Low-Profile Wireless Mechanical Keyboard

Lofree Flow Lite 2 84 low-profile keyboards in White and Black against a blue sky

Smooth, every keypress, every day

The Flow Lite 2 is the keyboard for people who type all day and would like it to feel good without turning into a hobby. It is low profile, so your hands sit almost flat as they would on a laptop, but every key is a real mechanical switch with a proper spring and a clean, quiet press. It connects to anything, lasts for weeks on a charge, and looks like a piece of stationery rather than a gaming peripheral.

This is the 84-key, 75% version: the full function row, arrows and a short navigation column, in a footprint that leaves most of the desk free. Black or White, with a sensible choice of layouts.

Light to type: the 45 gf Echo switch

Lofree and Kailh built the Echo switch for this board: a full-POM linear with a transparent top housing, rebalanced from the previous generation's 40 gf to 45 gf. The extra weight is deliberate. 40 gf was fast but easy to brush by accident; 45 gf keeps the lightness and adds just enough spring that resting fingers do not fire keys. POM on POM is naturally slick, so the press is smooth from the first day without lube.

Every switch is hot-swappable. If you later want a tactile or a different weight, any low-profile Kailh-compatible switch drops straight in.

Made for every touch after

The keycaps are high-content double-shot PBT with a matte, oil-resistant surface. Double-shot means the legend is a second piece of plastic moulded through the cap, not printed on top, so it cannot wear off; PBT means the matte finish stays matte instead of going shiny where your fingers land most. On a keyboard you will use for thousands of hours, those two things matter more than any spec.

The right information, nothing else

A small OLED in the top right corner shows the four things you actually check: battery level, whether you are on Bluetooth, 2.4 GHz or cable, which Bluetooth slot is active, and whether the board is in Windows or Mac mode. Next to it is Lofree's volume roller, which you can spin with one finger without looking.

A clean white glow under every key for late sessions, with brightness and effects set from the board or the software.

Flip-out kickstands give a choice of 0 or 8 degrees, so it works flat like a laptop or tilted like a desktop board.

Refined from the inside out

The Flow Lite 2 uses a gasket mount: the plate sits on soft strips rather than screws, so it has a little give under your fingers and the case does not ring. Lofree redesigned the internal structure for this generation, and the result is a softer landing and a lower, more rounded sound than a low-profile board usually manages.

Up to 100 hours, three ways to connect

The 84-key board carries a 3000 mAh battery, half as big again as the first Flow Lite, for up to 100 hours of Bluetooth use with the backlight off. It charges over USB-C in three to four hours. Connect over Bluetooth 5.3 to a laptop, tablet or phone, over the included 2.4 GHz receiver at 1000 Hz for the desktop, or over the cable, and it works with Windows, macOS, iPadOS, iOS and Android.

Q&A & Specifications

Questions & Answers

Is it good for a Mac?

Yes. Four Mac layout keycaps are in the box, a toggle switches between Windows and Mac modes, and the OLED shows which one you are in.

Can I change the switches?

Yes. The sockets are hot-swap and take low-profile Kailh-compatible switches. Standard full-height MX switches will not fit.

How is it different from the first Flow Lite?

Heavier 45 gf Echo switches instead of 40 gf, a 50 percent larger battery, the OLED display, a redesigned gasket mount, and Lofree Hub alongside VIA.

Does it have RGB?

No. The backlight is white only, which suits the look and helps the battery.
