A Foundation for Sound and Feel

The QK101 is more than its layout or materials. Under the hood, you'll find a host of components designed to deliver an uncompromising typing feel. At its core, that feel starts with the dual-mounting structure, specially crafted to give you complete control. You can build it with the included silicone gaskets for a softer, more cushioned response, or use the top-mount screws for a classic, firm, and direct feel. Qwertykeys provides all the necessary hardware for both.

Inside the case, a full array of foam—including IXPE, PCB, and dense case foam—works to eliminate any lingering hollowness and refine the sound profile. The kit also introduces a new plate cushion that attaches directly to the top of the plate. This cushion helps focus the sound of each keystroke, better highlighting the unique acoustic properties of your chosen switches. Throw in your choice of three distinct hot-swap PCBs and six plate materials, and you have all the tools needed to build an exceptional typing machine.

The QK101 brings a new dimension of interaction to the classic keyboard. A vibrant TFT LCD screen sits above the arrow keys, ready for your personal touch. With a new "Dynamic Theme" option, you can upload custom foreground and background GIFs that react to your typing speed. The screen also displays the time, date, connectivity status, and even includes a built-in *Flappy Bird* style game.

On the side, a dot-matrix LED panel offers multiple display modes that also interact with your typing. And for a final touch, the front features an interchangeable magnetic badge with a smile face, while the backplate QK logo doubles as a clever storage spot for the 2.4GHz wireless dongle.

The QK101 uses Qwertykeys' customized VIA web configurator. Standard VIA software does not support the advanced screen features, so be sure to use the QK-specific version to map keys and upload custom GIFs.
