Akko MOD007 V5 HE: The Spectrum of Control

Akko MOD007 V5 HE: The Spectrum of Control

A New Class of Input

Meet the Akko MOD007 V5 HE: the 75% keyboard that brings Hall Effect magnetic switch technology to the world of custom builds, giving you a level of control that traditional mechanicals simply can't match.

Built on a foundation of next-generation magnetic switch technology—and housed in a solid CNC-machined aluminum case—this performance keyboard comes equipped with a huge list of competitive-grade components. An 8,000Hz polling rate for instantaneous response. Fully adjustable actuation and Rapid Trigger for granular control. A full array of foam and a flexible gasket mount to deliver a refined typing sound and feel. This isn't just an upgrade; it's a new class of input.

The Hall Effect Advantage

Standard mechanical switches are binary. They’re either on or off. The MOD007 V5 HE uses Akko’s advanced magnetic switches, which measure the exact distance a key is pressed down to the micrometer. This unlocks a suite of features designed for pure performance. With the Akko Cloud Driver, you can fine-tune every keypress to match your playstyle, from setting a hair-trigger actuation point of just 0.1mm for quick movements to a deep 3.4mm for deliberate actions.

It’s a simple change, but a critical one. It means your keyboard no longer just registers *if* you pressed a key, but *how* you pressed it.

The Hall Effect Advantage

Zero-Latency Reset

Rapid Trigger technology ensures consistent, instantaneous key resets for maximum performance.

Built for the Custom Scene

To truly understand the benefits of a premium keyboard, you have to feel it. The first thing you’ll notice about the MOD007 V5 HE is its weight. At its core, that feel starts with the CNC-milled aluminum case, the soft Poron gaskets, and the multiple layers of internal sound-dampening foam. This isn't a plastic board that rattles as you type; it’s a rock-solid platform built for stability and acoustic refinement.

The customization doesn’t stop with the software. Akko’s innovative ball-catch mechanism means you can access the internals for mods without a single tool, making adjustments quick and effortless. Inside, pre-lubed plate-mounted stabilizers reduce rattle, while the gasket-mounted structure isolates the plate from the case, creating a softer, less fatiguing typing experience during long sessions.

Complete Control at Your Fingertips

The MOD007 V5 HE puts its advanced functionality on full display. A built-in TFT screen gives you at-a-glance info and can be customized with your own GIFs, while the precision scroll wheel provides immediate control over volume and lighting right out of the box.

Using the Akko Cloud Driver, you can reprogram the knob and unlock the full potential of the magnetic switches. Set up Dynamic Keystrokes to assign four distinct actions to a single key based on press depth and release. Use Mod-Tap for dual-function keys. Or activate Toggle Key for rapid-fire inputs. This is a keyboard that adapts to you, not the other way around.

Questions & Answers

What are magnetic (Hall Effect) switches?

Unlike traditional mechanical switches that use metal contacts to register a keypress, magnetic switches use a magnet and a sensor. The keyboard measures the distance of the magnet to determine how far the key has been pressed. This allows for advanced features like adjustable actuation points and Rapid Trigger.

Can I use regular MX-style mechanical switches in this keyboard?

No. The MOD007 V5 HE is designed exclusively for magnetic switches. It does not have the hot-swap sockets required for traditional 3-pin or 5-pin mechanical switches. You can, however, swap the included Akko magnetic switches for other compatible magnetic switch models.

Is the software required to use the keyboard?

The keyboard works as a standard plug-and-play device for typing. However, to access and customize the advanced Hall Effect features like Rapid Trigger, adjustable actuation, and the TFT screen, you will need to use the Akko Cloud Driver software.

What is the knob for?

By default, the knob controls system volume and RGB lighting brightness. Its function is fully reprogrammable within the Akko Cloud Driver software to perform other actions like scrolling, application switching, and more.
